Rooted in Service: Troop 477 Makes a Lasting Impact

A Heartfelt Thanks to Alec and BSA Troop 477

Homeward Bound, Inc. extends our deepest gratitude to Alec of BSA Troop 477 in Plymouth, MN, for choosing us as the focus of his Eagle Scout project. Over two weekends, Alec led a dedicated team of Scouts, Crew members, and Cub Scout siblings in a meaningful and hands-on effort to enhance the lives of our residents.

Phase 1 of the project kicked off at our Plymouth House, where the group spent the day building six custom 18-inch planter boxes designed for vegetable gardening. The energy and teamwork were inspiring, and we’re incredibly thankful for everyone who came out to support Alec and lend a helping hand.

The following weekend, the Scouts delivered the planter boxes—along with fresh soil—to six of our homes: Maple Grove, 92nd, 82nd, Saratoga, 36th, and Atwood. These planters will bring joy and outdoor engagement to our residents for seasons to come.

This marks the fifth Eagle Scout project from Troop 477, first in partnership with Homeward Bound, and we couldn’t be more honored.

Thank you, Alec, and thank you to all who supported this wonderful act of service.
