Volunteer Opportunities

Your gift of time can have a wonderful impact on the lives of children and adults with disabilities in many ways! Homeward Bound has a number of opportunities for you or your group to come out to visit us! We are thrilled that you are motivated to make a difference in the lives of the individuals we support with developmental disabilities. We welcome community members, family members, neighbors, corporations and other civic or service organizations who want to be involved with an organization that makes a difference!

Current Opportunities

Special Events Fundraising

Help fund-raise and/or volunteer at a special event. These events help raise the money needed to provide community access opportunities, adaptive equipment, supplies, etc., for children and adults with developmental disabilities. This is a great way to meet new people and help Homeward Bound at the same time! Your volunteer group is also welcome. Join us for the fun!  Some examples of fundraisers that companies have held on behalf of Homeward Bound are:

  • Business lobby holiday hat/mitten/scarf collection
  • Business lobby holiday gift card tree
  • Friday Jean Day – Each employee contributes $5 to be able to wear jeans to work on a Friday
  • Soup & Chili cook off – Each employee pays $5 to taste test the soup and chili entries and cast their vote

Landscaping/Outside Projects

Needs may include planting flowers, trimming bushes and trees, raking, window washing, and painting.

Arts and Crafts Activities

Host a craft project at one of our Homeward Bound homes. Use your people skills and craft talents to encourage individuals and family members to get involved in a fun, creative project.

Hosts for Picnics, Barbecues, and Performances

Visit a home to host a picnic or barbecue or party, or come visit to have a sing along or play an instrument.

Create your own

Homeward Bound is eager to form relationships with people in the community. We welcome the opportunity for you to share your ideas with us; what you are interested in doing so that we can all benefit from this partnership.
