Homeward Bound’s 2024 Year End Letter (YEL)

Dear HBI Friends,

2024 has been an incredible year at Homeward Bound. Each day our staff provides service to adults with disabilities with a deep gratitude for the opportunity we have to enrich their lives. Our round-the-clock care and support as well as our commitment to partnership with guardians and family members ensures our success. Volunteers and donors commit their time and resources to this endeavor and this year there are so many to thank. From our Golf Tournament to Made in the Shade and ART-Abilities to our BeautifyHBI Campaign recruiting volunteers, in kind donors and funders, our success has become our community’s shared pursuit.

In 2025, Capital Improvements being made to our homes inside and out will help to establish our credo that places where our residents live should also be places, we would want to live.

In 2025, we will expand our Student and Community Volunteer Program helping those in our community gain perspective on what living with a disability can entail and how brightening the lives of our residents can also brighten their lives. Additionally, we will make group recreational outings a priority with the addition of a Recreation Coordinator who will spur on our vision for what recreation should be and could be for individuals living with disabilities at HBI.

In 2025, our Eat Well-Live Well Initiative will make sure our residents are eating healthy and experiencing all the benefits that eating well has for truly living well. On Friday, February 21st we’ll launch this initiative with a unique, special event and fundraiser called the Homeward Bound Chili Cook Off. Watch our website for details and buy your ticket or support us in other ways.

In 2025, we’ll launch an HBI Training Institute Program for managers and professionals including our first ever mini conference for mid-level agency staff growing in knowledge and skills.

In 2025, we will conduct Strategic Planning as a Board of Directors along with staff leaders and consider how HBI moves forward our mission into the decade ahead.

In the year ahead, we will need your support more than ever. We think the economics involved are hard to argue with. Here is why, when you support HBI you’re going to get back much more in return. Your donation lands with our staff and immediately goes to work accomplishing our mission of providing innovative and life-enriching services for children, adolescents, and adults with disabilities. You can make a contribution toward our 2025 goals by making your donation online or by mailing a check to Homeward Bound, Inc.

We look forward to seeing you in 2025 and wish you and your loved ones a blessed holiday season.

Sincerely,

Rob Edwards, President and CEO
