The Impact of Volunteers at Homeward Bound:

Due to Covid, we were heartbroken to close our doors to our youth group volunteers from Church of the Open Door, after a decade of tradition following the closure of Brooklyn Park house.  However, we are so happy to begin rebuilding our volunteering opportunities! Some special memories throughout the years include:

We recently began a new campaign: #BeautifyHBI.  This will be an ongoing community partnership to continue making all our houses feel like home.  One philosophy we live by at HBI is that many hands, doing just a little make for a profound impact.  

What Can You Do:  

Are you or your organization looking to make a profound impact in your community? Join us at HBI, where we are dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with disabilities through meaningful relationships and support.

We invite church groups, sports teams, student organizations, and companies to invest their time and resources into our cause.  Your involvement can make a world of difference.  Here are some ways you can help: 

  • Volunteer Your Time: Spend time with our residents, engage in activities, and help us build a vibrant, inclusive community. 
  • Organize Fundraisers: Host events to raise funds that support our programs and services. 
  • Offer Professional Skills: Use your expertise to assist with administrative tasks, training, or therapeutic activities. 
  • Sponsor Events: Provide financial or in-kind support for our events and initiatives. 
  • Join Our Outreach: Help spread the word about our mission and recruit more volunteers. 

By partnering with us, you will not only contribute to the well-being of individuals with disabilities but also gain the fulfillment that comes from making a real difference.  Together, we can create a more inclusive and supportive community.
