HR Specialist

As our HR Specialist I, you will be the face of Homeward Bound in recruitment efforts, cultivating internal talent, developing outreach partnerships, and innovating strategies to attract top candidates. You’ll work closely with hiring managers and team members across the organization, ensuring a seamless and inclusive hiring experience while supporting broader HR activities such as onboarding, compliance, and employee engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of recruiting: job postings, interviews, hiring, and onboarding
• Maintain applicant tracking systems and recruiting dashboards
• Build strong community and organizational partnerships to support recruitment
• Coordinate digital and print marketing efforts for open positions
• Conduct new hire check-ins and analyze hiring metrics
• Support HR team projects, including benefits enrollment and employee communications

Qualifications

• Two years of related Human Resources experience required
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
• Experience in the Health & Human Services industry preferred
• Valid MN Driver’s License with acceptable driving record required
• Proficiency with computers, smart phones, and other technology required.
• Knowledge of software, programs and equipment used (UKG Ready, MS Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Strong attention to detail
