Warmer Weather Around the Corner
Like all of us, the gentlemen of Independence House look forward to warm weather. Walks around the lakes and concerts in the park are things they enjoy! Every year they look forward to the Made in the Shade walk around Lake Calhoun. A pontoon boat ride around Lake Minnetonka is the reward for the money they raise. We plan the pontoon ride for the month of August.
Forever Friends started on March 1st and is every Thursday night until April 26th. Forever Friends is a church group at Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie. This is an opportunity for fellowship and musical entertainment with other group homes with adults who have developmental disabilities. On the last session, they gather for a wonderful dinner which also includes entertainment. They always look forward to it.
The guys are always open for new experiences in the community. Please call Independence House if you would like them to join you or feel free to stop by for a visit if you are in the neighborhood.
