Homeward Bound recently received a generous $2,000 Grant from SAM’s Club (Fridley) for Diversity Training.

Walmart and SAM’s Club believe in giving back to the community and understand that educating individuals about Diversity is important and integral to any businesses success and the happiness/engagement of its employees.

On July 12th Homeward Bound Staff met at our Corporate Office Training room for a three hour training on managing cultural diversity, taking personal responsibility for managing diversity, communicating effectively, building relationships with individuals from diverse cultures, resolving conflicts and overcoming resistance.

Our Trainer was Mr. Jackson George who is the CEO of Strategy Africa, Inc. Many Homeward Bound employees have had the privilege of meeting Mr. George and having attended one of his trainings through the Association of Residential Resources in Minnesota (ARRM) or here at our Homeward Bound Corporate Office.

Thank you Fridley SAM’s Club for caring about our Homeward Bound employees and understanding that Diversity Training and learning to get along with our co-workers will translate into better care for those we serve with severe and profound disabilities.
