Communicating Via Art

High Five!

Homeward Bound once again received funding through a Target grant to hold art sessions. This new program is entitled ‘Communicating through Art’. An art instructor will be coming to the Brooklyn Park location for five Tuesday evening sessions. The first session was November 27 with classes following on December 11, January 8, January 25 and ending on February 5. The art sessions will focus on including tactile materials. The first session incorporated tissue paper and stencils to assist in creative art making. The art work created thus far by the talented individuals we serve has been amazing! We anxiously await the dozens more masterpieces that are awaiting an outlet.

The grant received from Target was a Community Engagement grant, which means that a large piece of the funding is how the art is shared with the community. This a wonderful opportunity for Homeward Bound individuals to showcase their talents! More information will be announced next year on when and where art may be displayed.
