Why Our Golf Classic Banquet Dinner Matters
At Homeward Bound, Inc., every summer brings a day we can’t wait to celebrate — our annual Golf Classic at the beautiful, private Minnesota Valley Country Club. For more than 20 years, our supporters, sponsors, and friends have gathered for a day on the greens, full of fun, connection, and purpose.
But when the final putt drops, something just as special begins: our Banquet Dinner.
And this year, we’re shining a light on this evening of community, celebration, and impact.
More Than Dinner — It’s a Celebration of Community
Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to golf to share in the magic. Our Golf Classic Banquet Dinner is open to everyone — family, friends, long-time supporters, and newcomers alike.
At 6:00 p.m., we gather around the table to announce our winners, celebrate the day’s successes, hear inspiring stories, and raise vital funds through our silent auction and raffle. The dinner lasts just 90 minutes — but the memories and mission last far beyond that.

What makes this dinner truly special isn’t just the delicious meal or the exclusive setting — it’s the people you’ll meet and the stories you’ll hear.
This year, you’ll hear directly from one of our HBI Guardians — a parent whose story brings our mission to life. You’ll see how your support creates homes filled with love, compassion, and person-centered care — places where people with disabilities can build meaningful lives, just like anyone else.
It’s a powerful reminder that Homeward Bound was founded by parents who knew their loved ones deserved more than an institutionalized life — they deserved a place they could truly call home.
