Homeward Bound’s Individualized Housing Options (IHO) and In-Home Programs just received a wonderful gift, a new handicapped accessible van. The IHO Program provides assistance to individuals who live independently in a home in their community of their choosing. IHO staff matches services to help each person’s own unique needs. Offering increased choice and an opportunity to self-direct the supports they desire.
The In-Home Program serves children with disabilities who are living in the family home. This program helps to keep the family intact by reducing the stress a family feels when they have a child whose needs are beyond the norm.
At the end of 2016, Homeward Bound received several donations for new van. The cost of the van was $43,000. Two of our largest donors were the Schulze Family Foundation and Microsoft – Fargo.
These donations mean freedom and choice for the individuals served in these two very important programs!
