Employee of the Month – January 2025

Rashidah has been with Homeward Bound for several years as a DSP at 43rd House. The staff at 43rd recognized her dedication and they all miss her strong work ethic. Last year, she earned her nursing degree and transitioned to working as an RN at Homeward Bound’s Medicine Lake house. No matter where she is, Rashidah finds joy in interacting with the residents.
When she walks in, one resident immediately smiles and follows her with his eyes, knowing she will give him and his roommates plenty of attention. She sings to them, reads to them, and engages them in sensory activities, always bringing enthusiasm and warmth to her work.
A key part of Homeward Bound’s success is the dedication of staff members who ensure residents do not just live but thrive in their environment. Recently, Rashidah took the initiative to organize the residents’ closets, sort their medical supplies, and tidy up their personal items. She also arranged the medical supply room with care and attention to detail. Beyond her strong organizational skills, she proactively notes when supplies are running low, ensuring everything is well stocked.
Supervisors have noticed Rashidah’s thoroughness, her willingness to go above and beyond her assigned duties, and her ability to manage time efficiently. She consistently ensures residents are well cared for, maintaining a clean, comfortable, and organized living space.
We are truly grateful to have Rashidah as part of the Homeward Bound team!
Employee of the Month Program
Each Employee of the Month receives a $1000 bonus and is entered into the Employee of the Year contest. The Employee of the Year is announced at the annual Employee Anniversary Dinner in June of the following year and the winner receives a $1500 bonus and a trophy.
