Employee of the Month – March 2025

Please join us in congratulating Fadumo Abdi, On-Site Supervisor as our March Employee of the Month!
Fadumo has almost 20 years of experience in healthcare, working in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living, and now here at Homeward Bound. Fadumo is a dedicated team player who loves helping out and guiding new staff. She is always willing to pitch in, and goes the extra mile, often working more than 80 hours and filling in at the Atwood House when needed. She enjoys learning new skills by cross-training in different areas.
Coworkers commented on Fadumo’s passion for her work – shown by her singing to the individuals as well as taking them on walks. She’s taken the initiative to come in on her day off to pick up an individual who was ill at day program.
Outside of work, Fadumo takes care of her 78-year-old mom, and they love spending time together. Fadumo’s advice to anyone new in the field is to focus on teamwork, stay friendly, and always lend a hand. She said “When you enjoy what you do and help out wherever you can, you’ll succeed both at work and in life.”

Employee of the Month Program
Each Employee of the Month receives a $1000 bonus and is entered into the Employee of the Year contest. The Employee of the Year is announced at the annual Employee Anniversary Dinner in June of the following year and the winner receives a $1500 bonus and a trophy.
